Climate

Baños is located in a valley surrounded by scenic mountains 1829 meters above sea level. Its climate is temperate and humid with temperatures fluctuating between 16° C and 24° C during the entire year.

Flora

Ecuador is the country with the largest variety of orchids in the world, with the greatest concentration of unique and significant species to be found in and around Baños, where they can be observed in the wild along many of the existing routes by foot. roots and other species growing in their natural habitats. Many fruit-bearing trees exist, such as guayaba, avocado, sweet tomato, passion fruit, babaco and other that constitute an important source of income for residents and a true delight for the visitors.

Fauna

Baños and its vicinity are home to an incredible variety of butterflies and exotic birds such as toucans, mountain wild turkeys, the famous and seldom seen cock of the rock, hummingbirds of various species, and many other. A good example of this variety is displayed in the local Eco-Zoo, where all species dwell in the natural spaces similar to their habitats.
