The Galapagos Islands is one of the most visited regions because of its peculiar endemic flora and fauna, a place where it seems evolution has stopped and one can observe the only giant turtles in the world, iguanas, sea lions, black and red footed boobies, flightless cormorants and flashy frigate birds, and a variety of other endemic creatures. To the east is the Amazon jungle with a variety of ethnic groups and an incredible biovariety and wildlife somehow coexisting with the big oil companies operating in the area.
